Free, Confidential Counseling Services
College brings exciting opportunities alongside real adjustments and stressors. Located on the second floor of Carstensen Hall, UB Counseling Services offers a compassionate, judgment-free space to talk.
Sessions are conducted by licensed mental health clinicians and are 100% free and confidential for all full-time, part-time, undergraduate, graduate, and online students.

Connecticut State Immunization Requirements
All students attending in-person classes must document compliance with State of Connecticut laws: • Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR): Two doses administered after age 1, or laboratory blood test (titer) proving immunity. • Varicella (Chickenpox): Two doses or documented clinical history of disease. • Meningococcal ACYW: Required within the past 5 years for all students residing in campus residence halls. • Tuberculosis Risk Assessment: Required within 6 months prior to matriculation.
Uploading Documents to the Student Health Portal
All medical records and immunization forms must be uploaded digitally through bridgeporths.studenthealthportal.com. Please scan clear copies of official clinic records signed by your medical provider. Once submitted, our clinical staff reviews your records within 3–5 business days.
Clinical Health Sciences Clearances
Students enrolled in School of Nursing, Fones School of Dental Hygiene, Physician Assistant Institute, Acupuncture, and Chiropractic programs must complete specialized clinical clearances, background checks, drug screenings, and CPR certification before clinical rotations begin. Program-specific instructions are distributed by each department.
Student Health Insurance Plan & Referrals
All full-time undergraduate and residential students are automatically enrolled in the university-sponsored health insurance plan unless an active waiver with comparable coverage is submitted before the semester deadline. Our clinic assists with referrals to regional Hartford HealthCare specialists and diagnostic centers.
