Degree & Enrollment Verification

University of Bridgeport has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide degree and enrollment verifications for students, alumni, employers, and background screening agencies.

The Clearinghouse operates 24/7, providing secure, instant verification services. If you need written enrollment certification for health insurance, car insurance, or scholarships, current students can generate an enrollment certificate directly through the Student Self-Service portal.

  • Current Students: Access free enrollment certificates via Self-Service
  • Employers & Background Screeners: Submit verification requests at degreeverify.org
  • Lenders: In-school deferment forms are automatically reported monthly to NSC

Graduation Application Deadlines

Students must submit a Graduation Application through Self-Service prior to the deadline: October 1 for Fall completion, February 1 for Spring completion, and June 1 for Summer completion.

Degree Conferral vs. Commencement

Degrees are conferred in December, May, and August after final grades and degree audits are certified by the Registrar. The annual Commencement Ceremony is held each May.

Diploma Distribution & Certified Electronic Diplomas

Diplomas are mailed to the address specified on your graduation application approximately 6–8 weeks after degree conferral, provided all financial obligations to the university are fulfilled.

Replacement Diplomas

Alumni can order replacement diplomas by submitting the Diploma Replacement Form to registrar@bridgeport.edu along with the required processing fee.
