Frequently Asked Questions About Financial Aid
What is University of Bridgeport's federal school code for the FAFSA?
UB’s federal school code is 001416. Enter this code when completing your FAFSA at studentaid.gov so your aid information is transmitted directly to our financial aid office.
When will I receive my financial aid award letter?
For accepted students who have submitted their FAFSA, financial aid award notices are typically sent starting in early spring for fall semester entry, and rolling continuously thereafter.
Do merit scholarships require a separate application?
No. All incoming undergraduate and transfer applicants are automatically considered for institutional merit scholarships based on academic credentials at the time of admission.
What is financial aid verification?
Verification is a federal quality-assurance review process where colleges confirm information reported on the FAFSA. If selected, Student Financial Services will contact you to request standard tax transcripts or verification worksheets.

UB offers interest-free semester payment plans that allow students and families to divide tuition, room, and board expenses into manageable monthly installments instead of paying a lump sum.
