The Silent Witness program empowers students, staff, and community members to report suspicious behavior, illegal narcotics, weapons, theft, or vandalism without fear of retaliation.nnAll submissions routed through the Silent Witness portal are stripped of IP addresses and digital identifying markers unless you voluntarily provide your contact details for investigator follow-up.

Campus Lost & Found Services
Claiming Lost Property at Norseman Hall
All items found across academic lecture halls, library spaces, athletics facilities, and campus grounds are turned in to Campus Safety Dispatch at Norseman Hall. You must provide a description and photo ID to claim property.
High-Value Items Security & Safekeeping
Smartphones, laptops, wallets, keys, and jewelry are logged into secure property vaults. If student ID cards or wallets are turned in, dispatch staff immediately email the student’s UB account.
Bicycle Registration & Lock Cut Assistance
Register your bicycle serial number with Campus Safety for free to deter theft and expedite recovery. If you lose your lock key, officers can verify ownership and assist with lock removal.
Can I be tracked when submitting a Silent Witness tip?
No. The Silent Witness system is intentionally designed not to capture IP addresses, device identifiers, or email metadata. Your anonymity is fully safeguarded.
How do I report a vehicle accident on campus parking lots?
Contact dispatch at (203) 576-4911. An officer will be dispatched to document vehicle damage, collect insurance credentials, and file a formal incident report.
Who investigates Title IX and sexual misconduct reports?
Reports involving sexual assault, harassment, or interpersonal violence are coordinated by the University Title IX Coordinator in collaboration with specialized Campus Safety victim advocates.
