Poster Submission Guidelines & Criteria
Follow these technical specifications when preparing your RISE exhibition poster.
Poster Dimensions
- Standard poster size: 36 inches high by 48 inches wide
- High-resolution PDF format submitted before deadline
- Landscape orientation required for display stands
- Free on-campus large-format printing for accepted posters
Abstract Requirements
- Maximum 300-word structured abstract
- Must state background, objective, methodology, and results
- Faculty mentor endorsement required at submission
- Submissions open to all enrolled UB and Goodwin students
Evaluation Rubric
- Visual organization, legibility, and graphical clarity (25%)
- Scientific or scholarly methodology and rigor (35%)
- Student ability to answer judges’ questions articulately (25%)
- Potential real-world impact and significance (15%)
Who is eligible to submit an abstract for UB RISE?
All undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, faculty members, and research staff from University of Bridgeport and Goodwin University are invited to submit abstracts.
Does it cost anything to present at RISE?
No. Participation is completely free for all presenters and attendees. In addition, the university covers the cost of large-format poster printing for all accepted student presenters.
Can high school students participate in RISE?
Yes! High school scholars participating in UB’s Concurrent University Enrollment (CUE) programs are invited to submit research posters in the dedicated high school division.
