Course Registration Guide
Prepare for each semester by checking your registration appointment, resolving account holds, meeting with your academic advisor, and enrolling via the Student Self-Service portal.
Registration Windows & Early Enrollment
Registering early ensures the best selection of course times, professors, and prerequisites. Fall & Summer registration begins the first week of March; Spring & Winter registration opens the first week of November.

Registration Holds & Policy Details
Understanding and clearing common holds that prevent enrollment.
Financial / Student Accounts Holds
Unpaid tuition balances or past-due fees prevent course registration. Contact Student Financial Services at sfs@bridgeport.edu or visit the Paying Your Bill guide to make payment arrangements.
Health & Immunization Holds
Connecticut state law requires MMR and Varicella vaccinations for all matriculated students. Submit your immunization records to Student Health Services or visit the Health & Wellness portal to clear medical holds.
Prerequisite Overrides & Departmental Permissions
If a course requires instructor permission or a prerequisite waiver, complete a Course Override Form signed by the course instructor and school director, then submit it to registrar@bridgeport.edu.
Adding, Dropping, or Withdrawing from Courses
Courses dropped during the official add/drop period (first two weeks of the term) do not appear on your transcript. Course withdrawals after add/drop receive a grade of ‘W’ and require an official Course Withdrawal Form.
