A STEM-designated MS in Finance of 30 credits with a choice of internship or thesis capstone, dual degree tracks in Analytics and Business Administration, and CFA and Series 7 preparation.
Curriculum
A deliberate course sequence
Our Finance MS degree program is designed with a particular course sequence in mind, allowing you to seamlessly progress from broad surveys and overviews of financial core topics to granular details relevant to particular financial sectors.
What you will study
Investment analysis, financial modeling, derivatives valuation, international finance, behavioral finance, financial management, investment banking, and managerial economics.
Two ways to finish
Complete either an industry-focused capstone with an internship, suggested for students currently working or seeking to enter the workforce directly upon graduation, or a research-focused capstone with a thesis, suggested if you are considering a Ph.D. or other terminal degree.
How you are assessed
Participation in classroom activities addressing current financial events, preparing case studies, creating one-off backtests of financial hypotheses, performing simulations, developing reusable financial and risk management tools, due diligence research projects, 5-to-10-page papers on critical financial topics, and a five-minute professional presentation.
Completing the program
You will be required to complete 30 credits of coursework, which includes a final capstone, and satisfactorily complete all academic requirements with a cumulative grade point average of B (CGPA 3.0) or better.
